What is Hatha Yoga?

Hatha yoga is a fundamental system that pairs physical poses (asanas) with breathing techniques (pranayama). The slower moving style encourages the class to hold each static pose for a few breaths, and at a manageable pace. This dynamic allows for a greater focus on body alignment and mindful breathing, making the practice accessible to students of all levels, especially beginners.

What are the benefits?

Each section of Hatha Yoga has its own distinct benefits, helping to bring the body and mind together in harmony.

Postures (Asana):

  • Stretch muscles and reduce tension

  • Strengthen muscles and joints

Breath Control (Pramayama):
